25 WEIRD HACKS THAT ARE ACTUALLY GENIUS

3 Genius Festival Hair Ideas to Try at Your Next Festival

Glastonbury is a matter of days away and so our thoughts turn to festival hair ideas. Thankfully, , with the help of Ghd's UK brand ambassador, Zoe Irwin, has created three easy, fun and super-cool hair ideas for you to try. While we won't have a hairstylist in tow for all the upcoming festivals we'll be going to this summer, these looks are pretty easy to copy whether you're at a festival (just forgo the heat-styling stages of each step-by-step), going to a wedding or a summer barbecue.Keep scrolling to see the hairstyles and the step-by-step guides for re-creating each one at home.

Day One:

On day one, Millie went for a boho-esque half updo with intricate twisted metallic detail. Here, Zoe Irwin reveals how to get this look at home:

1. Prep your hair using the Ghd (£13) to create volume and texture. Use this all over to ensure the movement holds throughout the day.

2. Follow with a serum on mid-lengths and ends (we love Leonor Greyl Detangling Hair Serum, £25) to add moisture and long-lasting shine.

3. Blow-dry your hair, twisting sections as you go for extra movement and intricate textures.

4. Next, work the (£145) through the hair, to create a natural and effortless looking drop-down curl.

5. Twist back the sides, starting at the temple, and moving towards the back of the hair. Don't be too precise with this motion.

6. Lastly, tie metallic thread around the area where the twist meets the back of the hair, and crisscross through the ends, pulling the hair out from the inside for added texture.

Day Two:

Loose braids and flowing ends = a prettier take on the boxer braids trend. Here, Zoe reveals the step-by-step:

1. For braids that last all day, you need a good grip and hold in the hair, so repeat steps one and two from the previous look.

2. Split your hair into a natural parting with fingers, and then braid from the front of the hairline with the sections braided underneath instead of on top. Braid through to the nape only.

3. From the nape, mix the two braids together and pin to hold in place for a soft finish.

4. Create textured waves in the ends of the hair by using the Ghd Platinum (£145). Twist the styler downwards, and then carry on sliding it down the hair to get the textured wave. Alternate the waves, going one way and then the other.

5. Spray hair spray onto fingers and run through the ends for an undone look, and then pull the braids apart with fingers to give an overall undone finish.

Day Three:

This hairstyle combines two of our favourite things: pom-poms and braids. Obsessed. Here's how to do them at home:

1. Blow-dry hair with the Ghd (£95) and a round bristle brush (we recommend the Kent , £13).

2. Spray with a cocktail of root lift spray and (£13) into hair to add texture, and then gently backcomb the roots all over.

3. Create a natural centre parting with fingers by zigzagging a finger down the parting.

4. Pin and secure two different coloured pom-pom trims into the hair by crisscrossing two kirby grips over each other just behind the ear. Braid into the hair, and apply a clear band at the ends to hold the plaits.

5.
