Prince Harry's Tribute to Diana
Prince Harry is missing an important anniversary with Meghan Markle
On November 27, it will have been an entire year since Prince Harry announced he'd popped the question to girlfriend Meghan Markle. And alothas happened since then; the couple married in Windsor on May 19, they became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they went on an intense royal tour to Australia, oh - and they announced they are set to become parents.
Meghan and Harry have a lot to celebrate, is the point I'm trying to make. And considering it all started following their engagement announcement last November, you might assume they'd be marking the anniversary of the occasion. But alas, it seems not.
Because this year on November 27, Prince Harry won't even be in the country.
Last week, Kensington Palace announced that the father-to-be would be in Zambia on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 November, on a trip "at the request of the Foreign Office."
Harry's visit to the Commonwealth country will involve a reception to celebrate UK-Zambia relations, as well as a visit to Burma Barracks for an event commemorating WWI and WWII veterans from Zambia.
Meghan, meanwhile, will be left at home in England, probably toasting the anniversary on her own with a glass of Schloer.
But the engagement isn't the only anniversary the Duke and Duchessaren'tcelebrating this month. On Monday this week, it marked six whole months since their St George's Chapel wedding on May 19. But rather than going for an intimate, romantic dinner together, Meghan and Harry made their first joint appearance at the Royal Variety Performance in London.
With Christmas round the corner and a baby on the way, however, we doubt there'll be a shortage of opportunities for the royal couple to celebrate. As long as Harry brings Meghan back a nice gift from Zambia to make up for his absence, of course.
