Welcome to the History Articles Project (H.A.R.P)!

Our Mission

As of January 2019, the "History" category of wikiHow and its subcategory "Historical Figures" have just over 100 articles in total. Unfortunately, out of these 100 or so articles, many of them are in need of further editing to help them reach their full potential. At the History Articles Project, we look to not only decrease the amount of articles in need of further editing, but also ensure that the "History" category and its subcategory, "Historical Figures", continue to grow and flourish by creating additional quality how-to articles about history.

How You Can Help

Interested in helping out? You can help out H.A.R.P by:

  • Becoming a H.A.R.P Historian by adding your name to the bottom of the page and adding {{}} to your user page once done.
  • Inviting a friend or two by adding {{History Articles Project Invite}} to their talk page.
  • Adding history how-to articles under the "Candidates for Improvement" section if they are not already included and might need further editing to flourish and become a quality how-to article.
  • Improving history how-to articles placed under the "Candidates for Improvement" section.
  • Creating history how-to articles and posting them under "History Articles Created by H.A.R.P Historians once done.

Candidates for Improvement

Most of the articles in the list below have been taken from the list of articles requiring further editing in the "History" category and its subcategory, "Historical Figures". If you have found another article in the "History" category or in "Historical Figures" which you think may need some improvement, feel free to tag the article and post it here so a H.A.R.P Historian can take care of it.

A post has been made for January on the wikiHow forums which can be viewed under the General Chat section of the forums. For future posts, a designated Project Statistician will be responsible for performing these monthly censuses, which requires only minor to medium time commitment and does not require you to log on each day. If interested, please let know on his talk page. A Project Statistician will be selected by the end of February 1st!

  • Creation of Job Openings and Opening for Statistics Position-January 27, 2019

As some H.A.R.P Historians may not always be able to fix up an article entirely too often, H.A.R.P is looking for a H.A.R.P Historian to keep track of the tags placed on History articles on wikiHow, which will then be posted on the wikiHow forums at the end of each month. With this new job opening, a "Job Openings" section has been added where new volunteer positions will be added every now and then, so, if you're looking to get to do something a little different in H.A.R.P, be sure to take a look at the available job openings occasionally!

  • H.A.R.P - Image Reuse Project Partnership in the Works!-January 25, 2019

H.A.R.P is currently negotiating with the Image Reuse Project on a partnership where H.A.R.P gets articles based on a certain theme within history (such as the American Civil War), gets them promoted for the Image Reuse Project to then add images found from other articles to the promoted history articles. While a partnership hasn'tofficiallybegun yet, expect an update in the future regarding the start of a partnership between H.A.R.P and the Image Reuse Project if all goes well in negotiation.
